The leaves that are picked for this tea come from trees that are 150 – 600 years old that grow wild in the Wu Yi Nature Preserve. This tea category is made by fermenting and adding heat and moisture to facilitate "compost" of the leaves with beneficial microbes.
This tea is unmistakably earthy and contains beneficial bacteria good for our digestive health.
Brewing Guide
Use 212F water. Use 6-8g of tea per 12oz of water (about the size of a coffee mug).
35-40 seconds. The tea should have a caramel hue.
35-40 seconds. By the second brew, the tea should darken in color, almost black.
Add 5 - 10 seconds for subsequent brews
Use your best judgement! If the tea tastes too strong, use less time. If the tea tastes weak, use more time!
