2025+
Starting in 2024 and continuing into 2025, I have been collaborating with the Chromatic Brass Collective to reshape their brand. Founded by Black women, Chromatic Brass is dedicated to increasing the visibility of racially and ethnically underrepresented women and gender non-conforming brass musicians.
Since this nonprofit is founded by active musicians, they’ve faced challenges in keeping up with communications about their performances, events and fundraising efforts aimed at creating more opportunities for their community.
Together we created a clear vision statement, identified key research areas, and user archetypes to help guide our marketing strategy. We’re currently finalizing the last details in preparation for the official relaunch in early June.
The rebrand aims to reflect Chromatic Brass’ mission and its dynamic impact within the community through a refreshed brand identity, a new website (currently in progress), updated social media assets, and a range of supporting materials. Drawing inspiration from the interplay between sound and visuals, I collaborated with my friend and type designer Nathan Metzler to develop a variable font built from abstract shapes. The font’s variable axis responds to audio input, creating a visual language that responds to sound.
